I use relationship-based, positive-reinforcement training that focuses on helping dogs feel safe, understood, and confident. We teach dogs what to do, rather than correcting what we don’t want.

Most dogs can learn and improve with the right approach. Every plan is tailored to your dog, your home, and your goals.
-
We look beyond behavior to understand what’s driving it—your dog’s environment, emotions, and learning history—so the results actually last.

The Vision Behind Smart Paws
My Philosophy is Simple:
Connection before obedience.
Respect the dog you have.
Calm is a skill that we build.
Dogs have always been part of my life. But adopting a young rescue named Jaxon — who struggled with fear and reactivity — reshaped how I understand behavior.
I didn’t just want better behavior. I wanted understanding.
That journey led me to professional certification through Animal Behavior College and hands-on work providing private, in-home dog training throughout Adams, York, and Franklin Counties, PA. Since then, I’ve worked with dozens of families — supporting everything from puppy foundations to complex behavior challenges. And this one truth guides my work:
Behavior always makes sense in context.
My Mission
To help you and your dog build a relationship rooted in trust, respect, and clear communication—so you can truly thrive together.
My Approach
Training isn’t about obedience—it’s about understanding your dog’s unique personality, needs, and communication. We focus on teaching, not correcting, and building calm, confidence, and connection in everyday life.
What This Means for You
You’ll gain clarity, confidence, and practical skills—so life with your dog feels calmer, easier, and more enjoyable.
