The Journey Starts Here.
Every dog — and every family — is different.
This free phone consultation is a simple first step. We’ll talk through your dog’s challenges, your goals, and what daily life looks like in your home. I’ll explain how in-home training works and how we can build calm, connection, and confidence together.
What to Expect During Your Free Consultation
During your free consultation, we will meet and walk through a couple of things so I can get to know you, your dog(s), and your home. This conversation helps me understand what you and your dog need so we can create a training plan that works toward the goals you've set.
Your Dog's Current Challenges
This is a time to be upfront about the challenges you are currently facing with your dog. Common challenges homeowners face include barking, leash pulling, jumping, recall, reactivity, fear, and puppy behaviors.
Your Goals
These are the things you'd like your dog to achieve. This could include better recall, no leash pulling, calm greetings, and more. Setting goals helps me understand what you want to see from your dog so I can plan personalized training sessions.
Your Home Environment
Your daily routines, family members, other pets, and situations can all affect your dog and may be why they are struggling. If your dog only acts a certain way at a specific time of day, it may be best to train during that time.
Previous Training
If you didn't seek professional help before, that's okay. What you have been trying to do at home still counts. We will discuss what has and hasn't been working so I can understand what motivates your dog best.
Your Next Steps
Training will look different for every dog. We will set up training sessions and go through what each session should accomplish.
Why Choose In-Home Dog Training?
When a dog is away from home, their behaviors can change. They might be more scared or hesitant to perform their current behaviors since they are in a new area. When you train at home, where the behaviors happen, it lets me work with the dog and family on real-life situations.
I can work with your dog when visitors come, during your daily walk, when they bark at passing cars, or during other parts of your daily routine. Your dog can practice new skills in the environment where you'll use them every day.
With Smart Paws Academy in-home training, you also get personalized one-on-one training. Your dog won't have to wait their turn in a group setting or be in a chaotic environment. I focus on the dog in front of you and achieving the goals you set.
